About Madeleine Kirk

Madeleine Kirk has lived in York for thirty years - first in Skelton, then Haxby and now in Strensall, all of which are in York Outer.

She has been a popular local councillor in York since 1991. In that time she has served on several of the council's most important committees as well as building a reputation as someone who will get things done for local people. Madeleine has almost twenty years experience of solving residents' problems on a daily basis.

Madeleine has been actively involved in local life in York all the time she has lived here, serving on everything from school governors to Parish Councils to the board of York Theatre Royal. Even committed Conservative supporters are privately admitting that their candidate simply can't match Madeleine Kirk's record of action locally.

Madeleine's top priority as our MP will be York's local NHS services. She is an active member of York Hospital's board of governors. Both of her children were born in hospitals in York.

Madeleine and husband David have two children, both of whom were born and raised in York. Son James is currently serving with the Royal Navy whilst daughter Karoline is a social worker.
